135. 14-Feb 2026: Sharing Jesus at the Nelson Market

Thank you Father God, that, all your promises are yes and Amen.

Hello family in Christ, today we are blessed to outreach at the Nelson Saturday Market. When we arrived, the Main Street was very busy. Holy Spirit lead us to the busiest pedestrian pass through, from the Market, across the Main Street, and through to a big carpark.

We decided to just witness again, to people passing through. Many people were stopping for prayer and accepting Jesus into their lives.

We met a few fellow brothers and sisters in Christ whom we fellowshipped with and prayed blessings for. God’s presence was moving on the street, as fifty seven thirsty souls, stopped for a drink of living water, from Jesus. Accepting Him into their hearts, Amen, Thank You Holy Spirit, Glory to Jesus.

1 John 4:9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.

We decided to visit Renee at Ywam Nelson, after the outreach. We marvelled at the size of the complex, which once was a government facility, for troubled youth. I constantly marvel at your wonderful works, Father God. How you turn things around for good. So many times I have attended Churches that were once bars or some kind of demonic stronghold. I know the prayers of saints definitely contributed to these divine transformations.

Psalm 141:1-2. Lord, I cry out to You;
Make haste to me!
Give ear to my voice when I cry out to You.
Let my prayer be set before You as incense,
The lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

Thank you for joining us here, you are welcome to leave a comment if you like.

God bless you all in the mighty name of Jesus.

Paul

About Nelson

Nelson is a city and unitary authority on the eastern shores of Tasman Bay at the top of the South Island of New Zealand. It is the oldest city in the South Island and the second-oldest settled city in the country; it was established in 1841 and became a city by British royal charter in 1858.[3]

Nelson City is bordered to the west and south-west by the Tasman District and to the north-east, east and south-east by the Marlborough District. The Nelson urban area has a population of 50,800,[1] making it New Zealand’s 15th most populous urban area.

Nelson is well known for its thriving local arts and crafts scene; each year, the city hosts events popular with locals and tourists alike, such as the Nelson Arts Festival.[4]

Naming

Nelson was named in honour of Admiral Horatio Nelson, who defeated both the French and Spanish fleets at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. Many roads and public areas around the city are named after people and ships associated with that battle. Inhabitants of the city are referred to as Nelsonians; Trafalgar Street is its main shopping axis.[citation needed]

Nelson’s Māori name, Whakatū,[5] means ‘construct’, ‘raise’, or ‘establish’.[6]

In an article to The Colonist newspaper on 16 July 1867, Francis Stevens described Nelson as “The Naples of the Southern Hemisphere“.[7] Today, Nelson is nicknamed “Sunny Nelson” due to its high sunshine hours per year and the “Top of the South” because of its geographic location.[citation needed]

In New Zealand Sign Language, the name is signed by putting the index and middle fingers together which are raised to the nose until the fingertips touch the nose, then move the hand forward so that the fingers point slightly forward away from oneself.[8]
